Portrait Commissions
MY WORKING PROCESS
I like to discuss with the client the character of the subject and the feel of the picture that they are looking for. Then, where possible, I go out to see and photograph the animal or person in question. I will then return all of the photographs, in person, by post or in a digital format with the better ones printed with notes and suggestions. From there we select together the best photographs to work from and decide upon a medium. I then create a digital mock-up of the final portrait to give the client an idea of how the final picture will look. Any changes that they would like to see can be made at this point.
All photography is included in the price of the commission, however in cases where it is not possible to take new pictures I can work from client's photographs as long as they are clear and in focus with plenty of detail. I will need to see and approve these photographs before I can accept a commission.
If a client's photographs were taken by a third party, for example a professional photographer, then the onus is upon the client to obtain permission from the copyright holder and provide proof of this at the time of ordering.

DEPOSITS
A non-refundable deposit of £200 is charged on each portrait. This can be paid by cheque, cash or via Paypal. No photographs will be taken or portraits started until this deposit has been paid. Payment in full is required on receipt of the portrait if delivered personally, or prior to posting if that is the agreed means of delivery.

Delivery will be made in person by Ali Bannister wherever possible. Otherwise portraits will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery, or FedEx for international deliveries, and are covered against loss or damage whilst in transit.
FRAMING
Finished portraits are supplied unframed though can be framed for you at an additional cost. If a portrait is for a particular occasion then it is essential to book early and allow time for the finished piece to be framed.
